Intro to Exponents
A New Operation!?!
Think adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing are all there is to math? Think again! There are plenty of operations that mathematicians use. A thorough understanding of exponents is crucial to GED® success!
STEP 1: WATCH THE VIRTUAL CLASS VIDEO AND TAKE NOTES
Make sure to note the following:
The vocabulary words power, exponent, and base.
How exponents can be used to simplify repeated multiplication.
How to convert between the exponential and expanded or factored form of an expression.
How to use the expanded form to simplify exponential expressions.
How to simplify expressions involving the 0th and 1st powers.
