The Most Important GED Skill Might Not Be What You Think!
Share
The single most important skill for the GED, the one that can raise your score on EVERY test (yes, even math!) is....
wait for it...
Reading comprehension!
Two great ways to build your reading comprehension skills:
- Read. A lot. A book you enjoy, not one that bores you. You can also try magazines, blogs, news articles, even audio books. Find something interesting for the best results!
- Build reading comprehension and academic reading skills for free on www.readtheory.org! Shoot for 30-45 minutes a day, 4-5 days each week.
More tips:
- Read aloud. To your children, even if they are older, or to yourself.
- Still need to pass Social Studies? Try reading Young Adult Historical Fiction! These can build your reading comprehension and help you understand history better.
- Your local librarian loves to help people find books. Tell them you are trying to improve your reading level and ask them for help!
- No time to read? Take your book instead of your phone to bed, the table, the bath.
- Listen to audiobooks (free from the library) while you work, they help, too!
Happy learning!
